MY DEAREST,
MEET THE CAST
MAX BARRETT
PRODUCER

LAURA TURNER
EDITH
Hi! My name is Laura Turner, and I will be portraying the role of Edith in "My Dearest,"! I am passionate about exploring female stories on stage and screen, and bringing to life characters who might not have previously had the opportunity to give voice to their experiences. The female voice is hugely important to me, as well as capturing character with authenticity - I particularly enjoy developing an emotional connection with a character and then with an audience. I was so drawn to the character of Edith as she is such a complex and multi-layered character, paired with a script that has a strong emotional reality to it, and I am so excited to be part of "My Dearest,"!
Recent credits include: Elizabeth Proctor in “The Crucible” and Hero in “Much Ado About Nothing” (The Asylum Players); Lauren in “Facing Time” (Intestinal Fortitude Theatre); Lady Montague in “Violent Delights” (Petersfield Shakespeare Festival); Elizabeth in short film “RICH” (All Good Films); Becky in short film “The Plan” and Domitia in short film “In Umbra Eius Ignis” (Ignis Films).

CHLOË ADLERSTEIN
DAISY
Hi I'm Chloë, and I am very excited to be playing the role of Daisy in "My Dearest,"! As soon as I read the script I was totally captivated, both by the story and Daisy as a character. It has always been my dream to be in period films, and My Dearest, addresses so many issues I personally feel very strongly about. Although set in the late nineteenth century, these issues are still remarkably current, and we should all be able to appreciate their relevance.
I trained at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles, and since then have been working on various independent projects in London. I wrote and produced my own spoken word short film, which last year was a finalist in a New York film festival. The film raised awareness for a blood condition I was born with, so I can deeply identify with Daisy, as I know what it's like to be an outsider who compensates inner vulnerability with outer strength.
I'm looking forward to getting started on this project, and bringing a great story of love, acceptance and true human connection to life.

EMMA TRUE
MARY
Hi, I'm Emma and I'm so pleased to be joining the "My Dearest," cast as the character Mary!
My background is as a gymnast, and my acting roots are in physical theatre, circus, and Commedia dell'arte. My true love, however, is Film! Being an actress brings me immense joy, and I feel fortunate to have worked on BBC dramas and played the lead in a BAFTA-winning short film.
Working with Tom in 2020 was a massive highlight - I love his approach to directing and the complexity of the characters he creates. "My Dearest,"'s script drew me in with its female-led characters, and themes of history, relationships, acceptance and secrets. I instantly connected to Mary for her love of poetry and words, and for her dreamy nature (who doesn't love to daydream?!) I'm so excited to get stuck in!

JOSEPH LUKEHURST
ERNEST
Hello! I'm Joseph and I have the pleasure of portraying the role of Ernest in Tom Harvey Films' project "My Dearest,". I am an actor/singer (who can just about blag a dance routine!) who recently graduated from RCSSD. Since graduating I've been fortunate enough to work on some excellent projects in some amazing spaces including The Lion and Unicorn Theatre, The Cockpit Theatre, The Harold Pinter Theatre and Croydon's Fairfield Halls.
This is my first short film and acting job since the pandemic hit and I am raring to go and ready to throw myself into this great character and story after a devastating year for many industries especially the creative sector. I'm very excited to be a part of this project and be a small piece in the telling of this thought provoking and integral story. I can't wait to see how it turns out!

CARRIE-ANN SIMMONDS
AGNES
My name is Carrie-Ann Simmonds and I will be playing the role of Agnes in "My Dearest,". I have always been a person that has loved getting creative; whether through dance from childhood or sports, acting, art or even reading to get lost in the story. They have always given me an outlet to express myself. As time goes on, I have developed my passion in acting and in the last few years have worked on some absolutely amazing projects within; Theatre, film and voiceover. This year I will be no different, as I start courses in London to further this amazing career and working with this brilliant team of creatives in "My Dearest,".
When I read the script, I knew it ticked all the right boxes. Tom the director and writer has created a brilliant thought-provoking story which is extremely relevant today. The story is set in the 19th century, with powerful characters, with secrets, mystery and danger! Agnes is a very complex character, which I am extremely excited to delve into.
