My name is Tom Harvey and I am a Director and Screenwriter. I am an English and American Literature and Film graduate from The University of Kent and loved every second of it!
Having such a passion for Film, I love the idea of being able to capture a story through a camera lens. Film has a power that I could never have imagined. It can effect and impact people in so many ways, which is one of the reasons I fell in love with Film itself.
Watching a film is just like reading a book - but instead you "read" the screen. You constantly interpret artistic choices and hidden meanings engaging you through this "window" into different perspectives, stories and lives. This is what I truly believe makes Film an art: our connection to the screen and emotions that are evoked from this in wondrous ways.

This is what inspired me to create my own films, and showcase them to the world. I'm fascinated by what others' interpretations are upon films and love discussing these. It is something that I believe is beautiful about Film. It is something that is so collective, but also so intimate fundamentally achieved by the creation of Cinema. A chance for you, and only you, to watch a movie with no distractions and interference of others - I hope. It is this experience that I feel is like no other, and once in a lifetime, because nothing ever lives up to that quality in the Cinema. Which is why I aspire to make a film one day that will have a chance to be experienced on the big screen, and be witnessed from a number of people.
Film to me is an escape, but also an experience. You experience everything as it is shown on the screen. The elements of filmmaking are so vast and so experimental that you are forced to comprehend a certain emotion or feeling from what you are watching. It is an art. It is not just the acting that enforces this, but everything else around it too. It is a collaborative production, after all.
So here I am, endeavouring to contribute towards this artistic window that has been developed by so many great Film artists, and provide another dimension into the medium. I hope you enjoy, and are impacted, by my films - and I hope to work with some of you creative bunch in the future!
